Siliconplus brings strategy, design, storytelling, content and technology together to build purposeful brands and immersive experiences. We work with government, institutions and businesses across brand transformations, integrated campaigns, digital platforms, publications and experiential environments. We believe brands make the greatest impact when identity, story and culture are valued and brought to life.
Your role
We are looking for a Social Media Specialist who can turn ideas into content people want to watch, read and engage with. You will plan, write, shoot and edit content, and manage the day-to-day digital and social media presence of our clients and Siliconplus.
Working closely with teams, you will take content from idea to publication, build conversations with audiences and use performance insights to improve the work.
What you will do
Create content people connect with
- Develop content ideas and calendars that translate brand and campaign objectives into relevant stories, captions, scripts and digital copy.
- Plan, shoot and edit reels, interviews, behind-the-scenes stories and event content, using a smartphone or camera with simple lighting and audio equipment.
- Create and adapt videos and graphics for different platforms, working with design and production specialists on more involved executions.
Build conversations and communities
- Manage comments, messages and brand mentions using the appropriate brand voice and approved messaging, coordinating enquiries and escalating sensitive issues promptly.
- Encourage audience participation and turn recurring questions and feedback into useful content ideas.
Keep content moving
- Manage content calendars, production schedules and publishing, coordinating assets, feedback and approvals with internal teams and clients.
- Check copy, visuals, subtitles, links and formats before publication, and keep content records and assets organised.
Stay close to what matters
- Track trends, platform developments and industry conversations, bringing relevant opportunities and fresh content ideas to the team.
- Monitor audience sentiment and flag emerging concerns or changes in how people respond.
Extend content reach
- Support creator and influencer collaborations, from sourcing and outreach to briefing, coordination and deliverable tracking.
- Coordinate assets for paid social campaigns and support campaign setup, monitoring and optimisation with digital and media partners.
Turn results into better work
- Track performance against agreed objectives and prepare clear reports explaining what worked, what did not and what to improve.
- Use the findings to refine content, formats, posting schedules and calls to action.
What you will bring
- At least two years’ experience in social media, digital content or a related communications role, preferably in an agency.
- A portfolio showing content you have personally conceptualised, written, shot and edited, supported by strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Confidence with basic filming, lighting and sound, plus practical skills in CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar tools.
- A good understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube, with experience in publishing, community management and performance reporting.
- Strong organisation, attention to detail and sound judgement, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines. Experience with creator collaborations and paid social tools is an advantage.
Why what you do matters
Every post, video and conversation shapes how people experience a brand. We need someone who can spot a story, bring it to life and follow through on the details that make it work.
