Job summary

A leading technology company in Singapore is seeking a Tax Specialist to manage tax reporting and compliance. This role demands expertise in tax accounting, strong analytical and communication skills, and 8+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a large international setting. The Tax Specialist will ensure proper statutory filings, address tax issues, and research technical matters to implement necessary changes. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years tax experience in Big 4 accounting firm or in tax department of a multinational corporation.
  • Experience with implementing tax changes in a large international environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively with others.

The Tax Specialist will generate and prepare reports and schedules for Singapore. This position will work with internal and external consultants to assist in developing and implementing procedural, process and tax changes.

Responsibilities
  • Preparing of tax entries, tax reporting
  • Preparation of all tax disclosures included in Singapore’s financial statements and management reports.
  • Handling day to day tax issues and queries like Goods and Services Tax, Customer Accounting, Income Tax, Withholding Tax, Transfer Pricing, etc.
  • Ensure statutory tax filings and submissions are properly performed.
  • Research and implement tax technical matters (eg, increase in GST Tax rate means there is a need to change the ERP system).
  • Any other ad hoc projects related to tax
Job Qualifications and Educational Requirement
  • Possess tax accounting reporting and process knowledge including FAS 109, FIN 18, FAS 123R, FAS 141R.
  • Experience with implementing tax changes in a large international environment.
  • Strong communication (written and oral), tax technology and systems, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively with other tax professionals.
  • Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or Taxation preferred.
  • 8+ years tax experience in Big 4 accounting firm and/or equivalent experience in tax department of a large multi-national corporation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, HFM, and Onesource Tax Provision.
  • Familiarity with Invoice-Now, Tax Governance Framework “TGF” and Pillar-Two
