For this AVP Group tax role at the Group level in Singapore, it will report to a VP, Finance & Tax (at the Group level). We are seeking an experienced tax candidate at the SM /AVP level who is strong in both tax advisory and tax compliance. You are also hands-on with a steady career/cv track record.
Job Description
Overall group tax leader, responsible for compliance, planning, dispute resolution and advisory
Work closely with Business Units (“BUs’), to be jointly responsible for tax compliance and planning for all entities in the group with local authorities, including in areas such as corporate income tax, transfer pricing, capital allowances, withholding tax, GST etc.
Review existing tax practices and provide advice to improve existing practices and render support to the BUs as required
Support corporate re-organizations, M&As, JVs, financing, fund flows from tax perspectives
Evaluate and apply for tax incentives from local governments. Ensure the BUs comply with conditions imposed to enjoy the incentives provided
Drive optimal outcomes for tax controversy and/or dispute resolutions
Track new tax developments, evaluate implications to existing and future businesses, and deliver clear insights to management
Simplify group structure through regular group-wide reviews to optimize corporate structures taking into consideration new national and global tax policy developments
Coordinate communications with external stakeholders, including tax authorities, tax advisors and auditors
Requirements
A degree in accounting and/or finance-related from a reputable university, and ideally a recognised professional accounting
Minimum 7 years corporate and international tax experience, ideally gained within a Big 4 tax professional firm and a commercial firm. That said, strong Big 4 tax professionals with both tax advisory and compliance experience will be considered
