A waste management company in Singapore is seeking a Site Supervisor to oversee operations within a Waste-to-Energy plant. Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, ensuring safety compliance, leading contractor teams, and monitoring plant performance. Job Description
The Site Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations, safety, and coordination of activities within a Waste-to-Energy plant. This role ensures that all maintenance, operational work, and contractor activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and regulatory standards.
Daily Plant Operations
Supervise and monitor all on-site operational activities including waste handling, furnace operation, boiler systems, and turbine processes.
Ensure operational parameters are within approved limits and report abnormalities immediately.
Coordinate with control room personnel and maintenance teams to achieve optimal plant performance.
Team & Contractor Management
Lead, brief, and assign tasks to technicians, contractors, and shift workers.
Ensure contractors comply with plant rules, safety guidelines, and permit-to-work requirements.
Conduct toolbox meetings and supervise work quality to meet standards.
Safety & Compliance
Enforce strict adherence to WSH, NEA, and environmental protection regulations.
Identify and mitigate safety hazards; investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
Ensure proper documentation, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and isolation practices are followed.
Maintenance Coordination
Assist in planning and executing preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance.
Oversee inspections of mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation equipment.
Verify completion of maintenance tasks and approve work completion reports.
Monitoring & Reporting
Track plant KPIs such as throughput, emissions, ash quality, and energy generation.
Prepare daily reports, incident logs, and progress updates for management.
Recommend improvements to enhance plant reliability and efficiency.
Emergency Response
Act as the on-site lead during breakdowns, fire alarms, or process upsets.
Coordinate response teams and ensure safe restoration of operations.
5 years of experience in Waste-To-Energy plants preferred.
Strong knowledge of industrial safety, PTW systems, and process operation.
Leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and contractors.
Willingness to work shifts or extended hours when required.
