Job summary
A construction management consultancy in Singapore is seeking a site supervisor to oversee subcontractors, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and maintain project alignment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism while conducting inspections, maintaining accurate records, and supporting safety initiatives. This role requires a proactive approach to professional development and mentoring junior staff.
Responsibilities
- Attend daily meetings with sub-contractors to discuss structural and architectural matters.
- Monitor site progress and ensure safety compliance, reporting non-compliance as needed.
- Inspect subcontractors' work against approved drawings and initiate corrective actions.
- Conduct daily inspections with the Resident Engineer or Resident Technical Officer.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection forms.
- Demonstrate professionalism when working with general workers and subcontractors.
- Aim for timely approvals of assigned tasks, applying BCA's best practices.
- Support Environmental Health and Safety initiatives.
- Take proactive steps for professional development and cost-saving strategies.
- Provide guidance to new or junior site supervisors.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Attend daily meetings with sub-contractors to discuss structural and architectural matters, ensuring alignment with the project schedule.
- Monitor site progress and ensure sub-contractors’ compliance with safety regulations; report any non-compliance to the relevant superior and Safety Officer.
- Inspect subcontractors’ work to ensure it aligns with approved drawings and specifications; initiate corrective actions for any non-conformities.
- Conduct daily inspections with the Resident Engineer (RE) or Resident Technical Officer (RTO) and promptly address feedback to secure approval for work commencement.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection forms for future reference and provide documentation in the event of legal disputes or defects.
- Demonstrate professionalism and confidence when working with general workers, subcontractors, and peers. Seek guidance from senior staff when in doubt and uphold mutual respect and understanding of contractual obligations.
- Aim for timely and efficient approvals of all assigned tasks, applying BCA’s best practices diligently in all site operations.
- Support Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) initiatives set by the Project Manager (PM) and Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) to help maintain a safe and clean worksite.
- Take proactive steps for professional development by attending construction-related training from BCA or similar institutions and exploring cost-saving strategies suitable for on-site implementation.
- Willingly undertake additional responsibilities that support the project team's objectives and contribute to cost efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to new or junior site supervisors, ensuring a smooth transition and uninterrupted progress on site activities.
