Site Supervisor (Water Treatment Operations)

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily plant operations, including water intake, treatment, distribution, and waste management.
  • Monitor process parameters, equipment performance, and water quality to ensure compliance with operating standards.
  • Plan, assign, and supervise the work of plant operators, mechanics, and technicians.
  • Conduct inspections of treatment units, pumps, valves, filters, and chemical dosing systems.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities in coordination with maintenance teams.
  • Review and approve work permits, ensure safety compliance, and enforce operational procedures.
  • Troubleshoot plant issues and coordinate corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, chemical usage, water quality data, and maintenance activities.
  • Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate plant personnel to ensure skill development and high performance.
  • Support commissioning, plant shutdown, and emergency response activities.
  • Liaise with engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment operations, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Skills:
    • Strong understanding of water treatment processes (filtration, disinfection, clarification, etc.).
    • Ability to interpret P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and technical manuals.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
    • Familiarity with ISO, OSHA, or local environmental and safety regulations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
