Job summary

Meiden Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Safety Officer to ensure the safety, health and wellbeing of personnel on construction sites and facilities. You will implement robust safety protocols, identify hazards and foster a strong safety culture to achieve zero incidents and comply with regulations.

You will monitor site activities, conduct inspections, coordinate with project teams, endorse risk assessments and maintain safety records.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) qualification/certificate.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant safety experience in engineering, construction or project environments.
• Strong communication and coordination skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor day-to-day site activities to ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Conduct site safety inspections and identify hazards.
• Coordinate with project teams to address safety and health matters.
• Maintain Safety and Health Management System at project sites.
• Record safety orientations, toolbox meetings, inspections and activities.
• Review and endorse risk assessments and ensure control measures.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, client and company safety requirements.
• Investigate incidents and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in safety reports, documentation and forms.
• Lead in-house safety briefings and training.
• Collaborate with contractors to improve safety practices.
• Follow up on corrective actions from inspections and audits.
• Respond to site safety emergencies.
