Job description
Overview

The client is a world-renowned electronics manufacturing company headquartered in Taiwan, recognized as one of the largest technology solution providers globally. They are expanding their R&D presence in Singapore. The below position is open urgently.

Position: Simulation Engineer (CNC Tool Design Optimization)

Working Hour: Mon to Fri, 9am to 6pm

Responsibilities
  • Utilize tool simulation software (e.g., AdvantEdge, ANSYS) for analysis and optimization of cutting tools, including:
  • Cutting tool geometry design and optimization.
  • Development and evaluation of machining parameters.
  • Develop tool life and wear prediction models using experimental data and machine learning techniques.
  • Conduct on-site cutting trials and performance validation activities.
  • Prepare technical reports, optimization recommendations, and SOP documentation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for custom tool development and assist in pilot production runs.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to automation, digital twin, or smart manufacturing initiatives.
  • Provide overseas technical support for short-term assignments as needed.
  • Contribute to intellectual property creation (IPs) in areas of tool design and optimization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Materials Science.
  • Strong understanding of tool geometry, cutting mechanics, and CNC machining processes.
  • Proficiency in software tools:
  • – CAM: UG/NX, MasterCAM
  • – CAE: DEFORM, ThirdWave Solutions
  • – Programming: Basic Python for data processing and analysis
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC machining, tool application, or process optimization.
  • Familiar with CNC milling, end mill/ball mill/radius cutter geometry design, and applications.
  • Experience with tool heat treatment, coating, or carbide materials is advantageous.
  • Exposure to AI-based prediction or optimization projects is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to independently lead tool validation projects.
