A leading maritime services company in Singapore is seeking a Ship Chartering Broker to expand shipping operations. Responsibilities

  • Expand the shipping business in Singapore as a ship chartering broker.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with Japanese clients and owners.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between Tokyo HQ and Singapore clients.
  • Manage day-to-day vessel chartering and operational activities.
  • Ensure compliance with ship safety standards and regulations.
  • Monitor operational data to prevent disruptions.
  • Use digital technology to improve work efficiency.
  • Liaise with charterers and shipowners on operational matters.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Expand the shipping business in Singapore by acting as a ship chartering broker.
  • Regular meeting with Japanese clients and Japanese owners on day-to-day basis and to update Japanese colleagues in HQ on customer requirements
  • Serve as a key communication bridge between Tokyo HQ, Japanese clients, Singapore clients mainly Japanese, and the Singapore branch.
  • Handle operational activities and manage day-to-day vessel chartering and operations.
  • Maintain ship safety standards and ensure compliance with safety procedures.
  • Analyse and monitor operational data to identify potential issues and prevent operational disruptions.
  • Develop new ideas and initiatives using digital technology to improve work efficiency and overall performance.
  • Liaise with charterers and shipowners on all post-deal matters to ensure timely communication of essential operational information.
  • Conduct physical vessel inspections to ensure compliance with maritime laws and regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with Japanese shipowners and Japanese-affiliated shipowners in Singapore, with the ability to understand their management approach and support the stable operation of their ship-owning business.
