A logistics company in Singapore is seeking an experienced professional to lead export and import order fulfillment operations. Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage export and import order fulfillment operation as the main point of contact.
- To create and conduct periodic reviews of SOPs aimed at enhancing operational efficiency through system automation or process improvements, thereby mitigating potential risk areas.
- Ensure that shipments are executed accurately and punctually according to agreed SOPSs and KPIs.
- Ensure inquiries via telephone and/or email are timely and accurately responded.
- Ensure all related shipping documents, such as BL, AWB, DO, Commercial Invoices, Tax Invoices, etc, are efficiently and properly handled as per requirements.
- Develop and uphold guidelines and best practices to minimize compliance risks associated with shipments.
- Deliver on-the-job training to staff members to enhance their work performance and productivity.
- Proactively communicate with Shipping Lines and Freight Forwarders for shipping information, negotiate shipping costs accordingly.
- Manage Warehouse and/or 3rd Party Warehouse Provider to ensure on time clearance, loading and unloading of containers.
- Liaise with relevant parties for shipment discrepancies, shipping and insurance claims matters.
- Manage Shipping Lines and Freight Forwarders via regular performance meetings.
- Manage and ensure departmental costs are within agreed budget.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain / Logistics / Shipping or equivalent related qualification
- Min 3-5 years of professional experience in freight forwarding and shipping
- With experience in organizing, leading a team, people management and leadership, including recruitment, training & development, coaching, conflict and performance management
- Strong knowledge in Export & Import Operations, Custom Process, Permit Declaration, Incoterms, Shipping Operation matters.
- Strong knowledge various shipping lines, freight forwarders, related freight and shipping costs, and able to engage Shipping Lines and Freight Forwarders as needed
- Willing to work 5.5 days.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and other relevant software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
- With portnet experience is added advantage.
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
