Job summary
A marine services company based in Singapore is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead ship repair and conversion projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Naval Architecture or Engineering and 3-5 years of project management experience in the marine industry. Responsibilities include liaising with various stakeholders, managing project schedules, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Qualifications
- Degree/Diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-5 years’ experience in project management for ship repairs.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage ship repair and conversion projects.
- Liaise with classification societies and ship owners.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Identify and capture additional works.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage ship repair and conversion projects from planning to completion, ensuring schedules, costs, and quality standards are met.
- Liaise closely with classification societies, ship owners, engineers, vessel crew, and agents to achieve successful project delivery that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, fostering teamwork and trust.
- Identify and capture additional works, preparing detailed work lists and liaising with the Commercial Department for competitive pricing.
- Ensure compliance with contractual commitments and naval/marine quality standards.
Requirements:
- Degree/Diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 3-5 years’ experience in project management for ship repairs within marine or heavy industries.
- Knowledge of project scope involving pipe and cable laying.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills; able to manage projects independently.
