Job summary

A leading chemical engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a candidate with a diploma in Chemical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in a chemical plant. Responsibilities include operating process equipment and improving production. Candidates should have effective communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. This role requires shift work.

Qualifications

• Possess basic knowledge of maintenance and chemical engineering.

Job description

Jobscope:

• Operate the process to meet the conditions specified in manuals/instructions
• Operate the process equipment at site in accordance with operation plan.
• Take measures to improve production status and equipment performance on productivity and quality after approval of shift senior technician
• Patrol plant process, confirm the condition of process and equipment and report disordered matter to senior shift technicians.
• Take a sampling for analysis of products and process evaluation.
• Report all incidents, near misses, deviation from plan and take part in further investigation when required.
• Assist in coordination of daily maintenance planning, and participate in maintenance activities and shutdown/start-up of sections.
• Provide support for maintenance group /quality control group, if any problem arises.
• Perform the role as an auxiliary fire Fighter

Requirements:

• Diploma or NITEC in Chemical engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 year experience in chemical plant. The experience in polymerization unit and extrusion unit or a minimum 3 year experience in manufacturing plant such compounding or extrusion is advantageous.
• Possess basic knowledge of maintenance, chemical engineering and analytical procedures.
• Experience in operation via DCS systems is advantageous
• An effective team player with good communication
• Able to work shift in a fast paced environment.
