Job description

Micron's Singapore is looking for a high energy and ambitious individual to join us as a Equipment Engineer. You will be responsible in supporting the overall Operations including, but not limited to, develop frameworks monitoring and improvement initiatives on Engineering performance to plan, develop valuable engineering solutions, driving continuous improvement projects in equipment utilization and support new tool setup and qualification. In addition, you also need to coach and train other TMs to improve engineering capability and personal/professional development.

Responsibilities

Equipment Availability and Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) Improvement

  • Proactively improve equipment availability using equipment FMEA, Potential Problem Analysis, design improvement or other Continuous Improvement projects.
  • Strategize Spare inventory management to achieve most cost-efficient solution to sustain availability and minimize downtime.
  • Consistently track key equipment performance indices and generate reports for management reviews.
  • Perform engineering evaluations to drive equipment efficiency, utilization and capability improvement
  • Automate equipment data gathering and perform equipment assessment to reduce equipment induced yield losses.
Manufacturing Support
  • Work closely with manufacturing staff and leading a team of shift technicians to realize output and quality goals
  • Setting up and qualified new tool setups and collaborate with logistics and facilities in the process
  • Participate in solving and prioritizing issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
  • Coordinate new product runs, support production deployment of applications and perform validation testing
  • Analyze equipment failures and implement workaround and fix in a timely manner
  • Manage equipment hardware and software and process changes and documentation
Continuous Improvement Projects
  • Work on projects to improve overall equipment efficiency and effectiveness
  • Participate in improvement projects and execute to desired results
  • Develop software to monitor test production floor and enhance productivity
  • Review business plans regularly, explore opportunities for operational efficiency improvements.
People and Training
  • Prepare training and certification materials.
  • Conduct training courses and certification.
  • Document One-Point lessons.
  • Providing documented performance management for all direct reports with formal and informal feedback.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering or Science is required
  • Strong analytical, logical, and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communicator, able to collaborate across all levels
  • Growth mindset with a passion for continuous learning
  • Internship or experience in the semiconductor industry is a plus
  • Demonstrated leadership and a track record of impact are highly desirable
  • Interest in and knowledge of the semiconductor industry and Micron is preferred.
  • Capable of working on a flexible schedule (e.g. compress shift)
  • Candidates with relevant experience is preferred.

Oversees the installation, modification, upgrade and maintenance of manufacturing equipment. Maintains current records on equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades and safety issues. Studies equipment performance and reliability. Establishes programs and solutions for increasing uptime and for equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process. Provides technical support to the manufacturing equipment repair and process engineering organizations. Defines and writes preventative maintenance schedules.
