Job Summary:

The Generator Servicing and Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of diesel and gas generators through routine servicing, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs. The role requires technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, strict adherence to Singapore’s Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, and the ability to respond promptly to breakdowns.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform regular servicing, inspection, and preventive maintenance of generators according to manufacturer specifications.
  2. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
  3. Conduct load testing, battery inspections, fuel system checks, and cooling system maintenance.
  4. Maintain accurate service records, logs, and maintenance reports.
  5. Ensure compliance with WSH regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies.
  6. Assist in the installation, commissioning, and testing of new generator systems.
  7. Provide technical guidance to junior technicians and clients on generator operation and preventive care.
  8. Monitor generator performance and recommend replacement of parts or system upgrades as needed.
  9. Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and provide on-site repairs to minimize downtime.
  10. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for spare parts and specialized equipment.
Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, control panels, and engine systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Physical fitness for handling equipment and working in generator rooms or on-site locations.
  • Familiarity with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and safety practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork orientation.
  • Willingness to be on-call for emergency services.
  • BCSS certification.
