Job summary

A technical service provider is seeking a Service Technician in Singapore to perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair diesel generators. This hands-on role focuses on safety and efficiency, requiring a solid technical foundation in electrical and mechanical systems. The ideal candidate will maintain service logs, collaborate effectively with team members, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. Fresh graduates are welcome as training will be provided.

Qualifications

  • Physically fit and comfortable working on-site, including outdoors and in generator rooms.
  • Willing to work on a 24/7 rotational standby and respond to emergency call-outs.

Job Scope

As a Service Technician, you will be responsible forthe scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel generators andrelated electrical systems at customer sites. This hands‑on role requires astrong technical foundation in both electrical and mechanical systems, with astrong focus on safety, efficiency, and service quality. You will also supportservice documentation and provide technical feedback to the team.

Key Responsibilities
1. Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance of diesel generators according to establishedservice schedules.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults in generator systems.
  • Replace or repair faulty components such as alternators, control panels, wiring, andbatteries.
2. On‑Site Service & Troubleshooting
  • Conduct site inspections, testing, and fault rectification of generator sets and associatedsystems.
  • Carry out cable terminations, load testing, and commissioning of generator sets.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and support urgent breakdown repairs.
3. Technical Documentation & Reporting
  • Complete service reports, job sheets, and maintenance checklists accurately.
  • Maintain service logs and update customer records as required.
4. Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure all service activities comply with company and site‑specific safety standards.
  • Use appropriate PPE and follow safe working practices at all times.
5. Teamwork & Communication
  • Coordinate with Service Coordinators and Engineers for job assignments and support.
  • Collaborate with team members during complex service or installation jobs.
Requirements
  • Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of diesel engines, alternators, and electrical circuits.
  • Ability to read electrical diagrams and use testing instruments (e.g., multimeter, clampmeter).
  • Physically fit and comfortable working on‑site, including outdoors and in generator rooms.
  • Willing to work on a 24/7 rotational standby and respond to emergency call‑outs whenrequired.
  • Positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a strong team‑oriented mindset.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates without prior experience are welcome to apply –training will be provided.
