Job Summary
Lead the fire protection service and maintenance team by training technicians through hands‑on practice with real equipment and realistic scenarios, building a skilled workforce that delivers reliable and compliant service.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily maintenance, inspections, testing, repairs, and emergency response for all fire protection systems to ensure operational reliability
- Ensure full compliance with SCDF, Fire Safety Act, SS 554, NFPA, and all relevant standards to uphold safety and regulatory requirements
- Schedule work assignments, monitor team performance, maintain accurate records, and liaise effectively with clients and authorities
- Design and deliver practical, hands‑on training programs using live equipment covering sprinklers (wet, dry, pre‑action, deluge), fire alarms, hydrants/hose reels, and gas/foam suppression systems
- Conduct realistic scenario drills including fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, on‑site repairs, and emergency response to enhance technician readiness
- Demonstrate correct procedures, guide trainee practice, assess skills, identify gaps, and mentor technicians to achieve full operational independence
- Update and maintain training materials and develop senior technicians as assistant trainers to sustain training quality
- Audit fieldwork to reinforce correct techniques and best practices, ensuring consistent quality standards
- Enforce strict safety protocols, including PPE use and work procedures, to maintain a safe working environment
- Maintain comprehensive training records, competency assessments, and certifications for all technicians
Required competencies and certifications
- Junior College, Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Safety Engineering or Construction Engineering Technology
- Minimum 10-12 years of fire protection experience with at least 6 years in supervision or training roles
- Deep knowledge of fire protection systems and Singapore local regulations
- Proven ability to deliver practical, hands‑on technical coaching essential for technician development
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Willingness to be on-call and travel across Singapore and Oversea as required
