Do you thrive working with complex and large equipment? Do you have offshore or maritime experience? Look no further, MacGregor is looking to hire a Service Engineer with deck machinery competence.

The purpose of this role is to drives and monitors work to projects based on order content, delivery time, competencies and workload.

More tasks and responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) standards and regulations.
  • Execute all jobs safely and efficiently, ensuring smooth progress and timely completion.
  • Prepare for assignments in advance, including retrieval of drawings/manuals, and handling administrative tasks such as visa applications and flight bookings.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues on marine systems.
  • Install, test, and commission new equipment and systems, ensuring proper integration with existing vessel infrastructure.
  • Provide on-site technical support as required.
  • Serve as the main point of contact once a job is confirmed and during on-site execution.
  • Submit accurate service reports and related documentation upon job completion.
  • Travel overseas occasionally (approximately 20% of the time).
  • Perform other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Reporting directly to the Operations Superintendent. The position will be based in MacGregor’s office in Singapore.

What you'll need to succeed

As a person you are a solutions-oriented individual. To excel in this role, you must be customer-focused, collaborative, and possess excellent communication skills.

Ideally you have:

  • Min Diploma certificate in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics.
  • Min 2 years working experience in the marine industry is preferred. Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply as well.
  • Working experience in shipyard or offshore industry.
  • Knowledge in either Deck Machinery, Cranes or Davit would be an added advantage.
  • Able to understand hydraulic diagrams to carry out troubleshooting
  • Knowledge in basic PLC programming and VFDs would be an additional advantage
  • Able to remain calm and focused under pressure
