Overview
The Service Engineer (ACMV) is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and ensuring the optimal performance of Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation systems. This role involves providing technical support, performing preventive and corrective maintenance, and delivering high-quality service to clients. The Service Engineer works closely with project teams and clients to ensure smooth operation and reliability of all ACMV systems.
Maintenance & Servicing
- Perform routine preventive maintenance for ACMV systems, including AHUs, FCUs, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and ventilation fans.
- Carry out corrective maintenance to resolve system faults and breakdowns efficiently.
- Inspect and test equipment and components to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.
- Record service activities and update maintenance reports accurately.
Troubleshooting & Repair
- Diagnose system issues and identify root causes for equipment malfunctions.
- Execute repair works and replacements of faulty parts or components.
- Provide technical support and recommendations to improve system reliability and performance.
- Work with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve complex technical problems.
Installation & Commissioning Support
- Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of ACMV systems at new or renovated sites.
- Support project teams in verifying that all installations meet design and quality specifications.
- Conduct system performance checks and ensure all documentation is completed.
Client Support & Reporting
- Respond promptly to service calls and maintain strong communication with clients regarding job progress and completion.
- Prepare service reports and provide feedback to supervisors on recurring issues or improvement opportunities.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients by providing professional and responsive service.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company and site safety rules during service and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Participate in safety briefings, toolbox meetings, and ongoing safety training.
Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in ACMV servicing and maintenance.
- Educational Qualifications: Diploma or NITEC in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or an equivalent qualification.
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge of ACMV systems, including equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and repair.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards related to HVAC servicing.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Good communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, contractors, and team members.
- Software Proficiency: Basic knowledge of service management tools, Microsoft Office, and ability to read technical drawings.
- Analytical & Troubleshooting Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities with a hands-on approach to resolving technical issues.
