Job summary

The role requires an internationally recognized veterinary degree, AVS license or eligibility, at least five years in zoo/wildlife practice, and ACZM/ECZM board certification or eligibility, with strong analytical and collaboration skills. Weekend/after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Internationally recognized veterinary degree.
• Licensed or eligible for AVS veterinary license in Singapore.
• Minimum five years in general zoo/wildlife practice.
• ACZM/ECZM board certification or board-eligible.
• Proficient in management and medical aspects of zoo wildlife medicine.
• Class 3 driving license.
• Hospital management experience is beneficial.
• Strong analytical, communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays and after-hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage veterinary healthcare of all animals in the collection across taxonomic groups.
• Lead restraint, diagnostic procedures, surgeries and intensive care.
• Diagnose medical conditions using a broad diagnostic toolkit.
• Supervise clinical activities, mentor residents and staff.
• Develop health strategies, policies and preventive healthcare programs.
• Ensure compliance with biosafety, ethics and animal welfare requirements.
• Represent the organisation in professional and regulatory forums.
