Job summary

AIG Asia Pacific Insurance Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Senior Underwriter to independently underwrite marine cargo risks and structure complex programs for key broker partners.

You will maintain partnerships, manage underwriting workflows in line with Marine guidelines, and coach junior colleagues on technical underpinnings. Join a dynamic team focused on growth, risk management, and delivering high-quality insurance solutions across regions, with in-office collaboration and professional development

• Proven experience in Marine Cargo underwriting.
• Ability to underwrite risks and structure complex programs from Key Broker Partners.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Independently underwrite risks and structure complex programs received from Key Broker Partners
• Maintain and develop Key Distribution Partnerships.
• Manage AIG’s underwriting processes and procedures in compliance to the Marine Underwriting Guidelines and Risk Appetite.
• Provide guidance and training to junior team members on technical underwriting knowledge.
• Assist PCM with regular budgeting process and portfolio management and undertake projects.

How you will create an impact

• Independently underwrite risks and structure complex programs received from Key Broker Partners
• Maintain and develop Key Distribution Partnerships.
• Manage AIG’s underwriting processes and procedures in compliance to the Marine Underwriting Guidelines and Risk Appetite.
• Provide guidance and training to junior team members on technical underwriting knowledge.
• Assist PCM with regular budgeting process and constant portfolio management and undertake projects and or other duties which may be assigned.

What you’ll need to succeed

• A motivated team player with a regional outlook.
• Proven experience in Marine Cargo underwriting.
• Knowledge of Marine Liability products would be advantageous.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with a good eye for details
• Ability to work across multiple functions and departments.
• Good relationship management skills, and service-oriented focus
• Able to understand and execute on the vision and objectives of the department and company.
• Competent in all Windows based Office programs
• An individual who is curious and keen to upskill within a dynamic and growing department.
