This will be a 9 month contract for a parental leave cover.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead creation and development of entire retail marketing strategy: assortment strategy, in-store planograms & merchandising, promotion strategy, drive period campaigns & in-store activations – as per aligned consumer audience & channel priorities to help deliver Consumer Sales target.
  • Build positive relationships with key customers & distributors to help achieve Customer Pulse target
  • People management and Development of trade marketing team of two people based remotely. Help drive total BU People Pulse target by recognizing victories, addressing challenges and developing people.
  • Oversee mall events toolkit and assets sharing with agencies/distributor partners by local development or sourcing from the region/ another business unit
  • Work closely with distributor partners / retailer marketing teams and guide them to strongly implement trade plans. Build channel differentiation where possible. Be a brand guardian and help drive traffic to retail partners.
  • Analyze past & present performance on promotion planning & learn from other business units / brands to create strong marketing programs
  • Input and co-shape APAC Trade strategy in collaboration with APAC Trade Marketing Network across a diverse mix of channels: LEGO Certified Stores, eCommerce pure players, Toy Specialists & Department stores

This role is in India & Emerging Asia business unit (IEA BU), covering 5 key markets – a mix of direct coverage (India) and distributor coverage (Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam) with India and Indonesia being the key priority.

Overall focus is to accelerate business growth via recruiting kids and adults by a) enhancing coolness perception, b) improving the understanding of brand value proposition, and c) enhancing engagement across physical & online retail channels.

This role is part of the BU marketing organization, which includes Brand Marketing, Digital Marketing, Trade Marketing – reporting to the BU Head of Marketing. The team is highly collaborative, dynamic and energetic, espousing the values and behaviors of the LEGO Group.

Do you have what it takes?
  • Minimum 8+ years' relevant marketing experience for consumer brands, preferable in retail context in branded goods industry in categories such as: Sports, Fashion/ Novelty Retail, FMCG, Snacks/Beverages
  • Strong strategic and well-rounded end to end thinking – ability of translating global/regional strategy into local priorities for Trade Marketing with a commercial approach
  • Strong track record of prioritizing data, testing hypotheses, and translating findings into actionable strategies.n
  • Strong collaborator and relationship builder; able to work across various internal functions and external partners to influence key decisions
  • Demonstrated cross-functional leadership skills, thriving in a team setting
  • Able to navigate ambiguity with a solution orientated mentality
  • Strong ownership & Can-do attitude
  • Effective presentation and writing skills with the ability to convey a compelling and concise message, and to engage and inspire colleagues
  • Track record of designing and rolling out innovative projects in the area of Trade Marketing via constant test & learn approach is a strong plus!
