Job summary

Rolls-Royce Solutions Asia Pte. Ltd. seeks a Senior Technician (Field Service/ Navy/ Diesel Engine) to deliver hands-on technical service and support for MTU electrical, electronic and mechanical systems at customer sites and in-house facilities.

You will commission, install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair MTU engines and related equipment, managing field service jobs and producing detailed service reports with safety and quality in mind.

• Ability to document service actions clearly and accurately.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, commissioning, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of MTU engines and equipment at customer sites or workshop.
• Independently manage field service jobs per work orders with quality and safety in mind.
• Conduct system acceptance tests with customers and verify performance and documentation.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical or system-related issues efficiently and accurately.
• Provide timely technical service reports including investigation summaries and corrective actions.
• Carry out travel and job completion reports documenting milestones and outcomes.
• Maintain professional customer service and represent the MTU brand on-site.
• Safety compliance with WSHA and internal guidelines during all activities.
• Support process improvements and contribute to operational excellence.

Position Summary

The Senior Technician (Field Service/ Navy/ Diesel Engine) will be responsible for providing hands-on technical service and support for mtu electrical and electronic AND OR mechanical systems and associated equipment. This includes commissioning, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair works at both customer sites and in-house facilities. The role requires a high level of technical competence, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in dynamic environments.

What you will be doing:

• Perform installation, commissioning, routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair/overhaul of MTU engines and associated equipment at customer locations or in the workshop.
• Independently manage field service jobs in accordance with work orders, ensuring quality standards and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct system acceptance tests with customers or their representatives, including performance verification and documentation.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical or system-related issues efficiently and accurately.
• Provide timely and detailed technical service reports, including investigation summaries and corrective actions taken.
• Submit travel and job completion reports to document project milestones and service outcomes.
• Maintain a high level of customer service and represent the MTU brand with professionalism.
• Conduct acceptance tests together with customers or their representatives; provide expert recommendations on repair work if required.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations under WSHA and company WSH guidelines during on-site and workshop activities.
• Support continuous improvement of service processes and contribute to a culture of operational excellence.
• Carry out any other ad hoc tasks assigned by the Manager or Department Head.

Position requirements:

• ITE, Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering or any relevant Engineering disciplines.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant working experience in a service or maintenance engineering environment, preferably within power systems or industrial equipment sectors.

Preferred qualifications:

• Knowledge in hybrid, electrified, or digitalized power solutions.
