Job summary

Aibel is seeking a Senior Engineer in Technical Safety to lead the discipline on upstream oil and gas projects in Singapore. You will supervise safety engineering deliverables, manage interfaces with equipment suppliers and ensure alignment with project scope, budget and schedule.

The role requires extensive experience in safety design philosophies, hazard analysis, and compliance with API, ISO and NORSOK standards, along with strong communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/ Chemical/ Safety Engineering or other equivalent engineering specialization.
• Must have extensive experience with Safety Design Philosophies and related specifications.
• Strong knowledge of oil & gas industry standards (API, ISO, NORSOK, EU directives) and familiarity with related safety software.

Responsibilities

• Lead Safety Engineering activities across the project lifecycle and manage resources.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, project scope boundaries and budgets.
• Provide technical inputs on safety-related matters to interfacing disciplines and stakeholders.
• Act as package Responsible Engineer for safety, life-saving and firefighting equipment.
• Interface with suppliers to ensure design integrity and conformance with project standards.
• Support verification activities and participate in technical reviews and audits.
