Job summary

WOLA RECRUITMENT PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Technical Design Manager to lead design management for civil infrastructure and building projects in Singapore.

You will coordinate architectural, structural, M&E, BIM and external consultants to ensure buildability and regulatory compliance. The role requires a strong leadership presence, expert knowledge of structural engineering and construction methods, and the ability to deliver designs on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Min 10 years of relevant experience in technical design management or civil/building construction projects.
• Proven track record leading design coordination for major civil infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with Singapore authority submission procedures and BIM coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee technical design management, engineering coordination and design-related activities for civil infrastructure and building projects.
• Manage and guide design engineers while coordinating with architectural, structural, M&E, BIM and external consultancy teams.
• Review drawings, construction methodologies, submissions and design changes for compliance with specifications and regulations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary drawings and BIM models to identify and resolve clashes and constructability issues.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and authorities regarding design requirements and approvals.
• Chair technical coordination meetings and monitor progress of design submissions and revisions.
• Provide technical guidance to support site construction and resolve design-related challenges.
• Propose value engineering to optimise costs, methods and schedules.
• Work with Project Managers to ensure technical requirements align with execution plans and schedules.
• Support planning, progress monitoring and documentation related to variation orders and EOT matters.
• Oversee BIM execution plans and updated engineering models.
