Job summary

Learner's Loft Academy is seeking an experienced Senior Student Care Teacher to lead at the centre, guiding learners and the teaching team in a safe, nurturing environment. You will supervise and support primary school learners, help with homework, run signature programmes, mentor junior staff, and build strong relationships with parents.

This role requires patient, proactive leadership, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and a passion for helping children develop confidence and positive learning

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of student care or teaching experience.
• Experience supervising and guiding junior teaching staff.
• Experience with English/Mathematics/Science at primary level.
• Patient, nurturing and proactive leader.
• Excellent communication with children and parents.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for primary school learners daily.

About the role

Learner's Loft Academy is seeking an experienced Senior Student Care Teacher to take on a lead teaching role at the centre and help guide both learners and the teaching team. You will supervise and care for primary school learners in a safe, positive and nurturing environment, providing academic support and conducting signature programmes while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and care for primary school learners in a safe, positive and nurturing environment
• Guide learners in daily homework completion, corrections, spelling, revision and schoolwork
• Provide academic support in English, Mathematics, Science and other primary-level subjects where required
• Conduct Learner's Loft signature programmes, including Experience Math, Explore Science and Holistic Excellence
• Manage classroom behaviour using positive, respectful and consistent guidance
• Understand individual learners' personalities, learning needs and areas for improvement
• Build strong relationships with learners and create an environment where they feel comfortable, respected and motivated to learn
• Monitor learners' academic progress, behaviour and overall development
• Provide meaningful feedback and updates to parents
• Plan and conduct enrichment, holiday and experiential learning activities

About you

• Prior experience working as a Student Care Teacher, preferably in a senior or lead capacity
• Strong experience managing and teaching primary school children
• Able to guide primary-level homework and academic subjects confidently
• Patient and nurturing
• Good classroom and behaviour-management skills
• Strong communication skills with both children and parents
• Responsible, organised and able to work independently
• Initiative and ability to lead teachers
• Passionate about education and helping children develop confidence and positive learning habits
• At least 3-5 years of student care or relevant teaching experience (preferred)
