Job summary

t.y.lin international pte. ltd. is seeking a Senior Civil/Structural Engineer to lead detailed design packages for complex buildings and infrastructure in Singapore.

You will drive design reports, calculations, drawings, and submissions to authorities, while coordinating with disciplines to deliver high-quality design packages. The role requires at least 5 years of design experience, familiarity with local standards, and strong communication and mentoring skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; eligible for PE registration in Singapore.
• Minimum of 5 years' design experience.
• Familiar with local codes and authority submissions.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation of detailed design reports, calculations & drawings.
• Prepare submissions to statutory agencies/authorities.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for design deliveries.
• Lead in preparing tender documentation.
• Participate in tendering of projects.
• Contribute to successful delivery of projects.
• Train and mentor junior engineers.
• Manage design, coordination and project controls on major projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Lead in the preparation of detailed design reports, calculations and drawings.
• Prepare submissions to statutory agencies/ authorities.
• Lead in the coordination with other disciplines in preparation of design deliveries.
• Lead in preparing tender documentations.
• Participate in the tendering of projects.
• Participate in the successful delivery of projects.
• Training and mentoring juniors.
• Design management, coordination and project control on major projects.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized University and eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers Board (Singapore).
• A minimum of 5 years of design experience.
• Conversant with local codes and authority submission procedures
• Excellent interpersonal, good written and verbal communication skills
• Have good knowledge of common structural design software.
• Working experience in engineering design consulting practice on building, geotechnical, infrastructure, rail or road projects (underground/basement/elevated structures, tunnel structures and MRT station structures)
• Good project management skills and strong analytical skills
• Able to work under pressure with good time management skill
• Being a Professional Engineer is an advantage.

Buildings

• Experienced in the design and design management of major building projects such as residential buildings, commercial, institutional, high-rise buildings, schools,etc.
• Familiar with precast and prestressed concrete, steelworks, PPVC and MET will be an added advantage.

Infrastructure

• Experienced in the design and design management of major infrastructure projects such as underground MRT tunnels, stations and storage caverns.
