Job summary

OKX in Hong Kong seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer for the Payments Team to design, build, and operate scalable payment infrastructure. You will own end-to-end systems and collaborate with product, design, and partner teams to deliver robust, trusted payment solutions.

You will mentor engineers, raise the technical bar, and help shape standards in a growing fintech platform that handles real money across markets and rails.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of backend software development experience with high-availability, large-scale apps.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and design patterns.
• Ownership mindset and ability to drive cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the core payment platform.
• Develop high-scale, 24/7 APIs and distributed payment services across multiple cloud providers, using Java and Spring Boot as the primary stack.
• Own systems end to end—from design docs through production ownership.
• Expand our global reach and scale new payment channels.
• Protect user assets and ensure correctness, reconciliation, and recovery.
• Set the technical bar and participate in design and code reviews.
• Mentor engineers and grow the team's capability.
