Title: Senior/Staff Program Manager – Sustainability Operations
Micron Technology seeks a senior program manager to lead sustainability initiatives across manufacturing, facilities, and finance functions. The role focuses on water conservation, sustainability cost management, and aligning operational goals with the company’s net‑zero strategy.
Key responsibilities include:
Program Strategy, Execution and Water Conservation
- Lead short‑term planning and implementation of sustainability programs with a focus on water conservation and cost management.
- Develop short‑term strategies and targets aligned to long‑term sustainability goals.
- Build and manage governance mechanisms, reporting cadence, and performance visibility across operating sites.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance program efficiency, governance, reporting quality, and execution effectiveness.
- Leverage digital tools, analytics, automation, and AI‑enabled approaches to improve data flow, forecasting, reporting, and decision-making.
- Partner with site and global teams to improve water performance and expand program impact.
- Support compliance, audit readiness, and data assurance across relevant programs.
- Present recommendations, progress updates, and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Drive process improvement, digitalization, and automation opportunities to enhance sustainability operations.
- Coordinate external consultants, auditors, and relevant collaborators when needed.
Sustainability Cost Program Management
- Manage sustainability cost control, including CAPEX/OPEX forecasting, budgeting, tracking, reporting, modeling, and performance assurance.
- Build and maintain cost models to support sustainability investment planning and justify projects through alignment with global finance.
- Partner with relevant teams to evaluate project economics, validate assumptions, and support capital justification processes.
- Improve access to sustainability‑related investments and expenditures through robust financial tracking and reporting mechanisms.
- Support executive‑level decision‑making by providing clear financial insights, trade‑off analysis, and investment recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Management, Manufacturing, Facilities, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in facilities engineering, manufacturing, process operations, sustainability operations, or similar industrial environments.
- Strong program management skills with the ability to lead initiatives across functions and sites.
- Experience in budgeting, financial modeling, CAPEX/OPEX tracking, and developing a strong argument for projects.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and dashboarding skills.
- Experience with Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Familiarity with SAP, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise tools is advantageous.
- Strong communication and collaborator management skills, including executive‑level presentation capability.
- Experience in sustainability reporting, compliance, or audit support is preferred.
- Exposure to AI, automation, or digitalization in operational environments is an added advantage.
Travel
Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (approximately 10%).
