Job summary

A global semiconductor company based in Singapore is seeking an experienced automation engineer to enhance automation capabilities through advanced machine learning techniques and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering field and have at least 5 years of experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry. Strong programming skills in Python, Perl, and C++ are required, along with a collaborative mindset to lead cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant manufacturing/production/industrial experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong grasp of factory automation and Industry 4.0 requirements will have an added advantage.
  • Certified in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or experience applying DMAIC principles will have a distinct advantage.

Your Role

Key responsibilities in your new role

  • Responsible for participating in FAT and interface testing to ensure implemented solution meets regulatory requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Identify opportunities for automation optimization and efficiency improvements
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance automation capabilities, efficiency and cost effectiveness
  • Utilize advanced machine learning techniques to enhance decision making and execution capabilities of the robots, thus optimizing the overall intelligence of the system
  • Monitor and optimize navigation of autonomous robots and path algorithms to achieve maximum efficiency
  • Team up with multidisciplinary teams to drive automation projects completion to meet strategic objectives
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications
Your Profile

Qualifications and skills to help you succeed

  • Min. Bachelor’s/ Master Degree in Industrial/ Manufacturing/ Mechanical/ Mechatronics Engineering
  • Min. 5 years of relevant manufacturing / production / industrial experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry
  • Strong grasp of Python, Perl, C++, HTML, Linux, SQL and Tableau skills preferred
  • Good knowledge in factory automation and Industry 4.0 requirements will have an added advantage
  • A strong team player with excellent communication skills and project management experience
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills with desire to initiate improvements
  • Certified in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or possesses experience in applying DMAIC principles will have distinct advantage
