Company Overview:

Amperesand is disrupting industrial power with the first commercialized Solid State Transformer systems. Solid State Transformers systems are much more than a transformer replacement, enabling numerous advanced features to unlock solutions for data centers, EV charging, renewables, microgrids, and industrial installations. We are looking for mission driven team members passionate about making amazing products for worldwide electrification at maximum acceleration. Amperesand is building a global company and looking for talent across our geographies.

Role Summary:

Amperesand is seeking a Senior Staff Applications Engineer to ensure field technical readiness for execution of global Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives for Amperesand’s Solid State Transformer (SST) product line. This role is global in scope and requires a hands‑on engineer who thrives in real‑world, field‑oriented environments. The successful candidate will drive technical readiness, application validation, and knowledge transfer across internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful deployment and scaling of Amperesand technology.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead hands‑on technical execution and support for all global Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives involving Amperesand SSTs.
  • Work directly with customers, partners, and field teams to ensure successful installation, commissioning, and field performance validation of SST systems.
  • Extract, define, categorize, and catalog key technical learnings from PoC initiatives to develop a growing body of institutional knowledge.
  • Communicate technical findings and insights clearly to Program Management, Engineering, and Product Management teams to guide product evolution.
  • Investigate and document new application use cases for Amperesand SSTs, identifying unique technical requirements and performance considerations by sector.
  • Support go‑to‑market technical readiness by ensuring internal and external delivery teams are trained and equipped to work effectively with Amperesand SSTs.
  • Author and maintain technical collateral, including case studies, application notes, and whitepapers derived from PoC and early customer engagements.
  • Serve as a bridge between engineering development and commercial deployment teams, ensuring technical continuity and real‑world validation of new product releases.
  • Participate in global customer engagements, site visits, and field troubleshooting as required to ensure successful technical execution of programs.
  • Contribute to internal technical documentation, test procedures, and product qualification frameworks.
Qualifications:
Required
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in power electronics, grid‑connected systems, or electrical infrastructure deployment.
  • Proven experience executing customer‑facing technical programs such as PoCs, pilots, or field demonstrations.
  • Deep technical understanding of transformers, power conversion, and grid‑tied systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with field commissioning, system integration, and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent ability to document and communicate complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated success in cross‑functional roles that interface between engineering and product organizations.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience authoring whitepapers, application notes, or technical reports.
  • Willingness to travel globally (up to 20%) to customer sites, partner locations, and company offices.
