Job description

We are seeking highly skilled and passionate individuals to join our team as Senior Specialist, Luxury Watches. The candidate will be responsible for obtaining consignments of luxury timepieces for auction and/or selling exhibitions. As pioneers of a new category, you will have the opportunity to actively curate and promote this segment of auctions and selling exhibitions.

Responsibilities

Valuation and Authentication

• Conduct thorough research and authentication of high end watches.
• Stay updated on industry trends, market fluctuations, and regulatory changes related to luxury watches, providing insights and recommendations to the management team.

Consignment Getting and Client Engagement

• Develop and execute strategies to sell and acquire high-quality luxury watches consignments for auction.
• Provide expert guidance and support to clients, including collectors, investors, and sellers, on luxury watches valuation, acquisition, and investment opportunities.
• Collaborate with marketing and PR teams to promote luxury watches auctions and engage with potential clients through various channels, including events, exhibitions, and digital platforms.

Cataloguing and Auction Support

• Lead the cataloging process, ensuring accurate descriptions, detailed condition reports, and high-quality imagery of the luxury watches pieces.
• Actively participate in auction previews, auctions, and post-sale processes, including client engagement, bidding assistance, and post-sale follow-ups.
• Mentor and train junior staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the luxury watches Department.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a watch dealer and/or in a major auction house working environment with focus in watches and fine timepieces.
• Strong network and proven track record of sourcing and selling high-value jewellery pieces.
• Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
• Candidates with less experience may be considered for a junior role.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients at all levels.
• Proficiency in relevant software and database systems for cataloging and inventory management.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin or another Asian language to communicate with clients and associates.
• Demonstrate a positive, creative and can-do work attitude.
• Able to work well independently and as well as in a team.
