Job Title: Senior Software Test Analyst (6-Month Contract)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Test Analyst to support a project-based engagement on a 6-month contract. This role focuses on test planning, test execution, defect management, and quality assurance across system enhancements and new implementations.

The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive, with strong experience working closely with business analysts, developers, and project teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business and functional requirements to develop comprehensive test strategies and test plans.
• Design, prepare, and execute test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios (functional, regression, integration, and UAT support).
• Perform system testing and regression testing to validate software quality and stability.
• Log, track, and manage defects through to resolution, working closely with development teams.
• Conduct test data preparation and validation to ensure accuracy and coverage.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities, including coordination, execution, and defect triage.
• Ensure test coverage aligns with business requirements and project scope.
• Maintain clear and accurate test documentation and reports, including test results and defect metrics.
• Identify risks, quality issues, and improvement opportunities early in the project lifecycle.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance roles.
• Strong hands-on experience in test planning, test execution, and defect management.
• Solid understanding of SDLC and STLC, with experience in Agile and/or Waterfall environments.
• Experience working closely with Business Analysts, Developers, and Project Managers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Able to work independently in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred / Advantageous

• Experience in system integration testing (SIT) and UAT support.
• Exposure to test management or defect tracking tools (e.g. JIRA, HP ALM, Zephyr, TestRail).
