Job description
What the role is:

At the Housing & Development Board (HDB), we are committed to delivering affordable, quality housing and vibrant communities. As we advance our mission, we are building a data‑driven organization that leverages evidence‑based decision‑making to shape better housing policies, optimise operations, and enhance service delivery.

Are you a passionate Software Quality Engineer eager to make a real difference? Join our Software Quality Engineering Centre of Excellence and play a pivotal role in delivering mission‑critical software solutions that make a significant difference. We are seeking candidates with deep expertise in Tosca to drive our automated testing initiatives and elevate our quality standards.

What you will be working on:

Drive efforts in establishing and managing testing procedures and frameworks aligned with industry standards (e.g., ISO). Guide fellow team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. Design and implement comprehensive test strategies, plans, cases, data, and scripts to ensure our software products are of the highest quality. Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to define test objectives, scope, and success criteria. Perform system and performance tests to ensure our software meets and exceeds expectations. Develop, maintain, and optimise automated test cases and frameworks using Tosca and other leading tools. Create and manage realistic test data to simulate real‑world scenarios. Analyse test outcomes, identify root causes of defects, and drive resolution with cross‑functional teams — while coaching peers in effective problem‑solving techniques. Communicate test results and quality metrics effectively to all stakeholders. Champion innovation by continuously evaluating and improving testing processes by adopting new tools, techniques, and best practices.

What we are looking for:
  • A strong background in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems Management, Information Technology, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in software testing and quality assurance, preferably in digital services.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, automated testing tools, and processes.
  • Hands‑on expertise with Tosca (preferred); experience with tools like JMeter, Selenium, or similar is also valuable.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or equivalent.
  • Experience with CI/CD and issue management tools (e.g., Jenkins, JIRA).
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams.
  • Knowledge of cloud‑based testing tools and security testing methodologies.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Proactive, self‑driven and committed to delivering value.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Tosca certification or proven expertise in enterprise‑scale Tosca implementations is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a multi‑disciplinary team.

Join us and be part of a forward‑thinking team that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Successful candidates will be offered a 1+1 year contract in the first instance.
