Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own the regulatory reporting engineering function within a global team. You will shape the technical roadmap, collaborate with Compliance, Legal, and Finance, and deliver auditable reports across multiple jurisdictions.

You will lead architecture decisions, drive AI/LLM tooling adoption, and ensure data quality and reconciliation across reporting models, partnering with Core Banking for shared data capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Backend stack: Python, Kotlin, or Java; SQL at scale.
  • Proven ability translating regulatory requirements into engineering designs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the technical roadmap for regulatory reporting automation across all licensed entities and jurisdictions.
  • Lead architecture decisions across data pipelines, submission tooling, and AI-assisted compliance workflows.
  • Own delivery of regulatory reporting milestones — ensuring reports are accurate, on time, and auditable.
  • Act as the primary engineering point of contact for Compliance, Legal, and Finance; translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications.
  • Drive adoption of AI/LLM tooling to automate repetitive review, gap analysis, and interpretation tasks.
  • Define and uphold data quality, testing, and reconciliation standards across all reporting models.
  • Partner with the broader Core Banking engineering organisation on shared data platform capabilities.

About the team------------------

The Regulatory Reporting team builds and operates the company's automated compliance reporting pipeline across 10+ jurisdictions globally. We own the full stack: data modelling, submission tooling, AI-assisted review, and the internal platforms that compliance teams rely on to meet their regulatory obligations.


We are a small, high-leverage team. Every engineer has direct impact on the company's global licence health.


What you'll do------------------

As an Senior Software Engineer, you own both the technical direction and the day-to-day execution of the regulatory reporting engineering function. You will join a team of backend and frontend engineers, define the architecture, and act as the primary technical partner to Compliance, Legal, and Finance stakeholders.

Who you are

Minimum qualifications


  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.

  • Strong backend engineering foundation — Python, Kotlin, or Java; comfortable with SQL at scale.

  • Proven track record leading delivery of complex, multi-stakeholder technical programmes.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous regulatory or compliance requirements into clear engineering designs.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable representing engineering to non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred qualifications


  • Experience in financial services, regulatory technology, or compliance automation.

  • Hands-on with dbt, Databricks, Spark, or BigQuery in a production analytics engineering context.

  • Familiarity with LLM/agent frameworks (RAG, tool-use, evaluation pipelines) for document-heavy domains.

  • Experience operating in a multi-jurisdiction, multi-entity environment.

  • Track record building robust reconciliation and data quality frameworks for financial reporting.
