Job summary

EPAM is seeking a Senior Python Software Engineer to design, build, and integrate in-house and Software as a Service solutions used by business teams, taking features from early analysis through deployment and production support.

You will design secure, high-performing Python services, collaborate with stakeholders to shape scope, and guide junior engineers while delivering end-to-end features with automation, testing, and documentation.

• Translate business needs into technical approaches, estimates and delivery plans
• Define technical specifications and guide junior engineers and external developers
• Deliver features end to end, from implementation through deployment and production support
• Collaborate with stakeholders to shape scope, priorities and technical feasibility
• Improve reliability and maintainability through testing, monitoring and automation
• Create clear technical documentation that supports development and operations
• Communicate progress, risks and trade-offs with the project team

Requirements

• ython proficiency with proven experience delivering production-grade services
• AWS knowledge with hands-on experience designing or operating cloud infrastructure
• SQL proficiency with hands-on experience working with relational databases
• Financial services domain exposure or confidence-building systems in regulated environments
• Problem-solving mindset with demonstrated ability to translate ambiguity into deliverables
• Stakeholder management experience partnering with business users and engineers
• Ownership mentality with strong prioritization and follow-through
• Clear communication in written and spoken form

Nice to have

• AWS Glue or Amazon Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow or Control-M experience
• Serverless architecture or microservices and Representational State Transfer (REST) APIs experiencel>
• Messaging or streaming experience with Kafka or Amazon Kinesis
