Job summary
MINDEF is seeking a senior software engineering lead to design, develop, and sustain complex software systems for operational users within the Joint Intelligence Command. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand workflows, assess feasibility, and guide engineering teams through architecture and coding reviews.
The role requires mentoring junior engineers, producing design and testing documentation, and driving delivery in secure environments with a focus on reliability and governance.
Qualifications
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience
- Experience leading technical delivery and/or mentoring engineers
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (TypeScript, Java, C#, or similar)
- Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal skills and genuine interest in building good software for users
- Highly motivated and able to work independently
Responsibilities
- Lead design, development and sustainment of software systems for operational users
- Drive technical decisions through design docs, architecture diagrams and code reviews
- Formulate design and testing documentation for products
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship and project management to junior engineers
