Job summary

Grab is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer focusing on iOS to design and evolve platform capabilities that streamline Partner Apps onboarding, configuration, review, release and operation. You’ll influence architecture decisions and mentor the team to deliver reliable self-service experiences.

You will report to the Software Engineering Manager II and collaborate with backend, QA, product, and partner teams to translate requirements into scalable mobile platform solutions.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of professional iOS development experience with Swift and iOS SDK.
• Experience designing or maintaining mobile SDKs, frameworks, libraries used by multiple teams.
• Knowledge of iOS architecture, lifecycle, concurrency, networking and performance.
• Experience with WKWebView integrations, JavaScript bridges, RESTful APIs, and secure client-server communication.
• Understanding API design, versioning, testing, and release management.
• Hands-on XCTest, unit/integration testing, and CI/CD for iOS.
• Diagnose production issues using logs, metrics, traces, Instruments, and debugging techniques.
• Collaborate across mobile, backend, QA, product, and partner teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
• Experience with UIKit, SwiftUI, mobile security, observability, developer tooling, or large-scale ecosystems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define cross‑platform contracts to achieve iOS parity and consistent developer experiences.
• Collaborate with backend engineers on authentication, APIs, telemetry, and platform integrations.
• Create automated tests, release tools, sample apps, and docs to speed partner integration.
• Investigate production issues and strengthen monitoring and incident response.
• Work with product/design/QA/partners to translate requirements into scalable mobile solutions.
• Provide technical leadership via architecture/code reviews and mentoring.

Get to Know the Role

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will shape and build platform capabilities that simplify how Partner apps are onboarded, configured, reviewed, released and operated. You will work across the developer portal, webview javascript-bridge and backend services, lead technical decisions and help the team turn complex platform workflows into reliable self-service experiences.

You will be reporting to Software Engineering manager II

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Design, build, and maintain iOS SDK capabilities, native entry points, JavaScript bridges, and reusable APIs for Partner Apps.
• Improve SDK reliability, performance, security, observability, and backward compatibility across Grab app releases.
• Drive iOS capability parity by defining clear cross-platform contracts and consistent developer experiences.
• Partner with backend engineers on authentication, API, SDK scopes, transaction capabilities, telemetry, and other platform integrations.
• Build automated tests, release tooling, sample applications, and technical documentation that make partner integrations faster and safer.
• Investigate production issues, strengthen monitoring and failure handling, and contribute to incident response and post-incident improvements.
• Collaborate with product, design, QA, and partner teams to translate requirements into scalable mobile platform solutions.
• Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and continuous improvement of engineering standards.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• At least 5 years of professional iOS development experience, with proficiency in Swift and the iOS SDK.
• Experience designing or maintaining mobile SDKs, frameworks, libraries, or platform components used by multiple product teams.
• Knowledge of iOS application architecture, lifecycle, concurrency, networking and performance optimisation.
• Experience with WKWebView-based integrations, JavaScript bridges, RESTful APIs, and secure client-server communication.
• Understanding of API design, versioning, backward compatibility, testing strategy, and release management.
• Hands-on experience with XCTest, unit and integration testing, and CI/CD for iOS applications, frameworks, or SDKs.
• Diagnose complex production issues using logs, metrics, traces, Instruments, and systematic debugging techniques.
• Collaboration with experience working across mobile, backend, QA, product, and external partner teams.
• Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction through architecture and high-quality code.
• Experience with UIKit, SwiftUI, mobile security, observability, developer tooling, or large-scale platform ecosystems is an advantage.
