Job summary

Workato is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Golang) to join the Platform team. You will design, build, and maintain Go microservices while integrating with a Ruby on Rails monolith and expanding enterprise features.

You will collaborate with Infra and SRE, ensure high availability, and contribute across the full development lifecycle, delivering reliable, scalable software with strong engineering practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
• Solid experience with Go on the backend (2+ years).
• Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of core building blocks of web applications: databases, load balancers, application servers, message brokers, caching, monitoring, etc.
• Experience working with distributed systems.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

Senior Software Engineer (Golang)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Golang) to join our Platform team. Our platform is a large-scale system combining a Ruby on Rails monolith with a growing ecosystem of Go microservices. In this role, you will build and maintain business logic and enterprise-grade features for the Workato platform, including on-premise features, authentication, caching, work queuing, and APIs.

You will also be expected to:

• Design, build, and maintain Go microservices with a focus on correctness and reliability.
• Implement business logic and enterprise-quality standards across the platform.
• Collaborate with Infra and SRE teams to ensure high availability and scalability requirements are met.
• Contribute across all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
• Evaluate and propose improvements to existing systems.

Required

• 5+ years of industry experience in software engineering.
• Solid experience with Go on the backend (2+ years).
• Good debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
