About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer at MON Protocol, you will design, build, and optimize the systems that power our decentralized finance infrastructure. You’ll work on creating automated yield strategies, risk frameworks, and cross‑chain integrations that serve as the foundation of our Web3 ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply DeFi‑native and understands the nuances of yield, risk, and capital flow in on‑chain environments.

What You Can Expect To Work On:

  • Design and scale automated DeFi yield systems: Develop logic that monitors protocol performance, reallocates capital, and mitigates smart contract and execution risk.
  • Establish robust risk and performance frameworks: Define and implement guardrails for yield volatility, protocol exposure, asset diversification, and liquidity management.
  • Operationalise monitoring and compliance: Build tools and dashboards to monitor protocol health, yield efficiency, and gas optimization; use insights to improve performance and guide roadmap priorities.
  • Integrate with DeFi protocols and chains: Evaluate, test, and onboard new integrations across multiple ecosystems to expand our platform’s capabilities.
  • Collaborate across technical and strategy teams: Work closely with smart contract, data, and product leads to design secure and scalable systems.
  • Contribute to research and innovation: Stay ahead of DeFi trends, identifying new primitives and opportunities for protocol‑level improvements.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years focused on DeFi, blockchain, or smart contract development.
  • Deep understanding of DeFi mechanisms — including liquidity pools, AMMs, staking, vaults, yield farming, and on‑chain risk management.
  • Strong technical background in EVM architecture, Solidity, TypeScript/JavaScript, and familiarity with indexers and frameworks like Hardhat, Foundry, or viem/ethers.js.
  • Strong understanding of cross‑chain bridging, gas optimization, and MEV implications.
  • Familiar with on‑chain analytics (e.g. Dune, Arkham, Nansen, custom indexers) for data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Experience integrating across multiple DeFi protocols and chains, and understanding of interoperability and bridging mechanics.
  • Comfort with data‑driven engineering, using dashboards and analytics tools to inform performance optimization.
  • Knowledge of security best practices for smart contract development, audits, and operational risk mitigation.
  • Bonus: experience in risk simulation, yield routing algorithms, or treasury automation.
