Job summary

Optimum Solutions (Singapore) Pte Ltd. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead end-to-end development for mission-critical financial platforms in Singapore.

You will partner with architects, PMs, and business stakeholders to design, build, and deploy scalable solutions linking backend processing with modern digital channels. You will drive system integration, testing, and production release activities, with strong emphasis on code quality, governance, and secure software practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• 6+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a Finance Institution.
• Hands-on engineering on IBM AS400 / iSeries with RPG, RPGLE, CLLE.
• Experience with DB2, Oracle SQL, MS SQL Server, or MongoDB.
• Experience with Java, RESTful APIs, Node.js or React JS.
• Experience in banking/regulatory environments.
• Experience with Waterfall and Agile delivery.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead end-to-end development, system integration, and application delivery for mission-critical financial platforms. You will partner with system architects, project managers, and business stakeholders to design, develop, enhance, and deploy scalable solutions connecting core backend processing systems with modern digital channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Application Delivery & Engineering: Design, code, test, and maintain robust applications and interface modules in alignment with enterprise architectural and security standards.
• System Integration: Build, optimise, and support end-to-end interfaces connecting core enterprise platforms with upstream and downstream systems.
• Testing & Deployment Execution: Drive unit testing, execute System Integration Testing (SIT), support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and manage production release cutovers during designated green-zones.
• Technical Governance: Perform rigorous code reviews, adhere to change management protocols, and deliver comprehensive technical mapping specifications, data flow diagrams, and runbooks for production handovers.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Provide technical consultation to Application Delivery Managers and business teams to translate functional specifications into fit-for-purpose technical designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with at least 6 years of relevant experience, preferably in a Finance Institution.
• Demonstrated hands-on engineering experience within IBM AS400 / iSeries platforms using RPG, RPGLE, and CLLE.
• Working experience with software lifecycle and version control tools (e.g., Aldon Lifecycle Manager).
• Strong relational database design, modelling, and query expertise across DB2, Oracle SQL, MS SQL Server, or open-source engines (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
• Exposure to modern integration protocols and application stacks (such as Java, RESTful APIs, Node.js, or React JS).
• Proven track record delivering software releases within banking, financial services, or regulated enterprise IT environments.
• Experience operating across structured Waterfall and Agile delivery frameworks.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to navigate complex legacy-to-modern interfacing challenges.
• Excellent communication and technical articulation skills when interfacing with technical leads, testers, and business units.
