Job summary

Google Singapore is seeking software engineers to help build next-generation cloud networking infrastructure at massive scale, spanning AI workloads and enterprise connections. You will contribute to routing, data paths, and service interfaces with a focus on reliability and performance.

In this role, you will work on Cloud Interconnect to virtualize edge resources and connect enterprise data centers to Google Cloud Platform at high speeds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages: C, Go, Python, C++, or Java.
• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
• Ability to communicate in Mandarin and English fluently to partner with local clients and regional partners.

• Experience in networking spanning one or more of the configuration, control, and data planes. Experience with network engineering, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), or network control planes and protocols (e.g., Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS)).
• Experience with infrastructure technologies including developing large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience in developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact.

Interconnect has been one of the key features for GCP to onboard large enterprises and as such is a high impact project.

In this role, you will build Cloud Interconnect, which virtualizes the edge and foundation and allows enterprise customers to connect their on-premises data centers/networks to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) at 100 and 10 Gb/s speed. You will also span to connecting smaller customers through partners, as well as building ultra-low-latency interconnects in order for customers to be able to use large file stores and databases operated by third-parties, adjacent to Google data centers. You will manage complexity from physical network and routers through cloud virtualization.
