The Opportunity

Main Responsibilities

Software Development & Design

  • Research, design, and develop computer/network software and specialised utility programs.
  • Analyse user needs and develop software solutions using computer science, engineering, and mathematical principles.
  • Update and enhance software capabilities; direct testing and validation procedures.
  • Participate in proof-of-concept for new technology R&D.

Security & Risk Management

  • Identify organisation-wide and long-term issues.
  • Perform initial threat modelling and ensure coding meets security requirements.
  • Maintain a proactive security mindset.

Configuration & Release Management

  • Develop and maintain software configuration plans.
  • Oversee build, verification, and implementation of releases.
  • Apply monthly release strategy and support production roadmap.

Collaboration & Support

  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., business analysts, support teams).
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers (CAGIP, ITS) to align infrastructure constraints.
  • Provide level 3 application support and troubleshoot issues.
  • Communicate effectively with business users and IT teams.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Create tools/scripts to automate tasks using Python, shell scripting, and other languages.
  • Contribute to process improvements and coach junior team members.

Build & Change Management

  • Develop in Java for Calypso v14.4 and internal components.
  • Analyse enhancement requests and bug fixes.
  • Document deliveries and manage incidents/requests.

Operations & Performance

  • Integrate hardware/software systems and develop specifications and performance requirements.
  • Support operations and ensure smooth integration of new features and updates.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and capital markets regulations.

Team Engagement

  • Share ideas clearly and compellingly.
  • Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Be a team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.

Technical Skills

  • Strong background in capital market applications and trading systems, especially in Market Risk/Front Office operations.
  • Solid understanding of financial products: Treasury, FX, Credit, IRD, Bonds, RSF, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of trade lifecycle and financial assets: FX, Treasury products, repos, bonds, SLB, issuances.

Calypso Expertise

  • Hands-on experience with Calypso Back Office customizations across modules: Remote Services, Engines, Events, Filters, Reporting Framework, ScheduledTask
  • Message/Swift messages, Transfers, Settlement Delivery Instructions, Accounting
  • Pricers, Workflows, Reconciliation functionalities

Regulatory Reporting

  • Experience with HRF, NORIA, MMSR.
