Job summary

Dexian Asia Pacific in Singapore seeks an experienced software engineer to design and deliver scalable web systems. The role focuses on Python-based backends and modern frontend work with ReactJS/NextJS, TypeScript, and REST APIs.

You will lead major initiatives, guide teams, and ensure high-quality, reliable software across the stack. Responsibilities include collaborating with product/design/ops, optimizing code for performance, and driving architectural decisions for large-scale applications.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building general software and large-scale web systems.
• Expertise in Python (3.x) or equivalent OOP stack (Java, Go, PHP, Node).
• Frontend proficiency, preferably ReactJS or NextJS; TypeScript a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience leading major initiatives and projects.

Job description

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, operations, infrastructure) to build innovative application experiences
• Implement custom user interfaces using latest programming techniques and technologies
• Analyze and optimize code for quality, efficiency, and performance, and provide feedback to peers during code reviews
• Architect efficient and scalable systems that drive complex applications
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, and drive large efforts to reduce technical debt
• Work on a variety of coding languages and technologies
• Establish ownership of components, features, or systems with expert end-to-end understanding

Required experience:

• At least 7 years of deep experience building general software / web systems at a large-scale or similar experience
• Expertise in Python (3.x) -> Expertise in Python or equivalent OOP stack such as Java, Go, PHP, Node, etc.
• Proficiency in Frontend programming stack, preferably with ReactJS or NextJS. TS would be a plus.
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency with HTTP(s) protocol and RESTful specifications
• Experience leading major initiatives successfully
• Experience leading projects and teams accordingly
• Experience building and shipping high quality work and achieving high reliability
• Experience improving quality through thoughtful code reviews, appropriate testing, proper rollout, monitoring, and proactive changes
• Experienced in utilizing data and analysis to explain technical problems and providing detailed feedback and solutions.

Preferred qualifications:
