THE ROLE:

The Central Engineering Team within AMD Product Engineering develops advanced test solutions that enable successful Enterprise New Product Introduction (NPI) for next-generation server and enterprise processors. We bridge product development and manufacturing to ensure industry-leading quality, performance, reliability, and production readiness.

AMD is seeking a Senior System Level Test (SLT) Engineer to drive silicon bring-up, test program development, characterization, debug, and yield improvement from first silicon through high-volume manufacturing. This role offers the opportunity to work across CPU architecture, silicon design, firmware, manufacturing, data analytics, and AI-driven engineering solutions while shaping test strategy for AMD's latest server products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges, optimize test methodologies, accelerate product readiness, and influence product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and future test strategies. This is a highly visible role with direct impact on the successful transition of AMD's next-generation technologies from development to production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Contribute on System Level Test (SLT) program development, validation, and optimization for next-generation AMD products.
• Drive silicon bring-up, characterization, debug, failure analysis, and yield improvement from NPI through production.
• Utilize data analytics, automation, and AI-assisted methodologies to enhance product quality, test coverage, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Develop scalable test frameworks, automation solutions, and intelligent engineering workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex silicon, firmware, hardware, and system-level challenges.
• Advance test strategies, diagnostics, and manufacturing readiness to improve product robustness and production success.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices in SLT, automation, analytics, and responsible AI adoption.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Experience in System-Level Test (SLT), product validation, manufacturing test, silicon bring-up, or platform-level testing.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Java, SQL, Shell, or similar languages, with solid Unix/Linux expertise.
• Extensive experience in silicon bring-up, characterization, failure analysis, and root-cause debug of complex test issues.
• Experience developing, optimizing, or architecting test flows, debug infrastructures, and test content strategies.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs, AI Agents, and AI-driven automation.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with Firmware, BIOS, Diagnostics, Silicon Design, and Product Engineering teams.
• Familiarity with server platforms, PC hardware architectures, system bring-up, and hardware debug methodologies.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across global engineering teams.
• Experience with automation frameworks, data analytics, machine learning applications, or test infrastructure development is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership and mentorship, guiding engineers in analysis methodologies, debug techniques, and engineering best practices.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• BS/MS Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or comparable disciplines
• Prior experience in Product Engineering, Test Engineering, or similar semiconductor roles.
