A construction joint venture in Singapore seeks a capable Civil Engineer to manage the construction of road tunnels and utilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing site activities, resolving engineering issues, and maintaining proper documentation. Applicants should have at least 3 years of experience in Civil Project/LTA projects and 5 years in building construction, along with relevant academic qualifications. Report to Team Manager / Construction Manager / Project Manager.
Overall in-charge of construction of road tunnel, utilities, underground work & road diversions etc.,
Seek advice and resolve site engineering problems and with Team Manager / Construction Station Manager.
Check site installation of temporary works / falsework.
Maintain and keep inspection records, daily site reports, survey, setting out records etc.
Attend progress meetings with Team Manager / Construction Station Manager to discuss progress, technical, quality and construction issues as and when necessary.
Assist Team Manager / Construction Manager in preparing materials / manpower / equipment / sub-con / supplier requirements for station works based on the baseline programme.
Liaise with Design Manager / Design Engineer / Others for submission of required materials / Method Statements.
Plan and prepare method statements and submit to Construction Manager for review.
Implement project method statements and inspection and test plans.
Receive drawings and study construction details and check for discrepancies and rebar schedules.
Ensure to update construction drawings as per the latest revision and incorporate part plans and highlight changes if any to the construction drawing.
Report / record events and instructions.
Check quality and quantity of subcontract work done.
Plan material lay down storage areas and inform Site Checker.
Liaise with Engineers (Geotech & Temp. Works) and monitor instrumentation readings and follow up with appropriate remedial measures for unstable areas.
Liaise with temporary works supervision PE for supervision and signing off TWI & Permit to Dismantle forms for temporary works. Ensure PE Signing PE Logbook during site visit.
Involve and pre-start meetings with sub-contractors to discuss construction method / progress / quality / safety and resources issues.
Assist Team Manager / Construction Manager preparing Notification to Loss Adjustor for incidents happen if any and ensure relevant records prepared and submitted.
