Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research in Singapore seeks a Scientist to join the Advanced Optical Technologies Department, focusing on high refractive index nanocomposites and scalable fabrication of flat optics and AR waveguides via nanoimprint lithography.

The role involves nanoparticle synthesis, polymer formulation, materials characterization, and collaboration with industry partners to translate research from lab to pilot-scale manufacturing within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry/Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field.
• Strong hands-on experience in nanoparticle synthesis and polymer synthesis.
• Experience in materials characterization techniques (TEM/SEM, DLS, ellipsometer, spectrometry and etc.), nanoimprint lithography and cleanroom processes.
• Strong analytical, experimental, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong track record of publications in relevant fields.
• Good team player who can collaborate with industry and academic partners.

Responsibilities

• Nanoparticle synthesis, polymer matrix formulation, materials properties characterization (dispersion, optical properties, thermal stability and etc).
• Small scale fabrication of resins/nanocomposites
• Support translational research and collaborations with industry partners.
