Qualifications

• PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong publication record in robot learning, manipulation, embodied AI, or related areas.
• Experience developing and deploying robot learning systems on physical robotic platforms.
• Expertise in robot manipulation and visuomotor control.
• Proficiency in Python and modern deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
• Ability to independently define research problems, design experiments, analyse results, and drive projects.
• Experience leading or mentoring researchers, engineers, students, or project team members.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead research and development of learning-based visuomotor policies for humanoid robot manipulation.
• Define research directions and roadmaps for manipulation capabilities.
• Advance techniques including behavior cloning, RL, and hybrid reasoning.
• Develop approaches to robustness against sensor noise and partial observability.
• Oversee data collection, model training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Manage milestones, deliverables, and timelines; report progress to PI.
• Supervise and mentor researchers, engineers, and PhD students.
• Collaborate with perception, controls, systems, and hardware teams to integrate policies.
• Evaluate tradeoffs between learning-based and classical approaches and make design decisions.
• Lead preparation of publications, reports, and grant documentation.
