Job summary

A maritime solutions company based in Singapore seeks a candidate with a degree in engineering for a role managing maintenance works and leading a team of professionals. Responsibilities include ensuring ships' operational readiness and managing MRO expenditures. The ideal candidate has over 3 years of experience in ship repair projects, strong project management skills, and is familiar with SAP software.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in newbuild or ship repair projects preferred.
  • Completion of the Ship Repair Manager Course is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work onboard vessels and on weekends as required by project needs.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, monitor, and track all maintenance works to ensure ships’ operational readiness.
  • Manage and track MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) expenditures, including spares and material utilization.
  • Act as the main point of contact for direct customers (ship, SREC, SSEC), maintaining strong relationships and clear communication.
  • Lead and manage a team of technicians, engineers, and contractors to deliver high-quality, safe, and timely work.
  • Conduct Vessel Safety Committee Coordination (VSCC) meetings during ship programs.
  • Prepare and submit monthly management reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform service acceptance for jobs completed by the Production Department.
  • Review, check, and approve Work Orders raised by the Commercial Department.
Qualifications
  • Diploma/Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in newbuild or ship repair projects preferred.
  • Completion of the Ship Repair Manager Course is advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills in planning, scheduling, costing, risk management, manpower management, and customer relationship management.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage and work well with people at all levels.
  • Familiarity with SAP software will be an advantage.
  • Willingness to work onboard vessels and on weekends as required by project needs.
