They are currently in the process of setting up a R&D Competence Center in Singapore with focus on sensor technology and power electronics for serving the energy, building and EV sectors. As part of its expansion, our client is seeking talented professional to them in an exciting new role.
Senior R&D Engineer – Power Electronics (DC Charger)
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative circuit designs for power electronics applications.
- Perform circuit design and simulations.
- Create schematics using OrCAD, BOM and PCB designs (understanding the rules and collaborating with PCB design engineer), coupled with mechanical design.
- Conduct PCB prototype testing to verify performance.
- Troubleshoot circuits to identify and resolve issues that may arise.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with engineering and product development teams to ensure successful product launches.
- Collaborate with external R&D institutes and universities to develop innovative power electronics solutions.
- Conduct product level testing, troubleshooting, and support in product testing and qualification, including EMC/RFI and product, safety certifications.
- Create technical documents for design and specifications.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members.
- Stay up to date with advancements in power electronics, materials and industry trends.
Requirements
- University degree in electronic engineering, power electronics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in power electronics and PCB design.
- Strong knowledge in analog and digital electronics, control theory, EMC, reliability and thermal engineering.
- Solid theoretical understanding of power electronic converter principles, multi-level converters, magnetic component designs, and wide bandgap power semiconductor devices.
- Familiarity with simulation tools like LTSpice, Matlab/Simulink, PLECS, Labview to facilitate effective design and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in new technology development and innovation publication in reputable journals is a plus.
- An innovative spirit and enthusiasm for energy-based topics, technologies, and trends.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, with excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive work attitude.
