Job summary

A construction consulting firm in Singapore is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage cost estimation and commercial aspects of projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quantity surveying, particularly in signage and metal fabrication. Responsibilities include preparing cost estimates, negotiating contracts, and mentoring junior staff. Strong knowledge of local construction regulations and proficiency in relevant software is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5–7 years of quantity surveying experience, preferably in signage, metal fabrication, or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope, material requirements, and workmanship.

Working days: 5.5 days

Working Hours: Mon - Fri 9 am to 6 pm, Sat 9 am to 1 pm

Job Summary:

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will oversee the cost management, estimation, and commercial aspects of projects in the signage and metal sheet division. The role requires strong technical knowledge of signage, metal fabrication, and construction processes, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and contractual compliance is maintained.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documentation for signage and metal sheet projects.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project scope, material requirements, and workmanship for accurate cost planning.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts, variations, and claims with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor project costs, track variations, and provide regular financial reports to management.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and engineers to ensure design feasibility and cost efficiency.
  • Manage procurement of materials and subcontractor quotations, ensuring compliance with company standards and specifications.
  • Conduct risk assessment and provide mitigation strategies for project cost overruns.
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and client requirements.
  • Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors or site engineers.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of quantity surveying experience, preferably in signage, metal fabrication, or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of Singapore construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and cost estimation software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
